DEFINITION - Web-based training (sometimes called e-learning) is anywhere, any-time instruction delivered over the Internet to browser-equipped learners - you'll need a current version of Firefox, Opera, Chrome, or Internet Explorer . There are two primary models of Web-based instruction you'll see here: synchronous (instructor-facilitated, real time) and asynchronous (self-directed, self-paced - recorded sessions).

Instruction can be delivered by a combination of static methods (learning portals, hyperlinked pages, screen cam tutorials, streaming audio/video, and live Web broadcasts) and interactive methods (threaded discussions - see Early Childhood Discussion).

If you have good examples or relevant web-based training we can link to, or screen cam or video clips you've produced that you want to upload please let us know. Send links by email to training@ectac.net. Upload files through the Share Resources upload page.
